Waterproofing Tunnels with Geomembranes
GSE HDPE geomembranes meet the requirements for tunnel membrane materials: they’re nonporous, chemically inert and completely waterproof. GSE geomembranes are manufactured from the highest quality resins, carbon black, anti-oxidants and thermal stabilizers to ensure product performance against underground deposits of hydrocarbons and methane gas. Every GSE geomembrane must pass our strict quality control processes before being shipped to the customer with a Quality Assurance Certificate. In addition, we've developed GSE TunnelLiner, a highly flexible polyethylene geomembrane specifically designed for tunnel lining applications.

For easier and more accurate visual inspection, use GSE White. This state-of-the-art geomembrane is more visible to detect punctures and repair during the installation and inspection phase.
In addition, GSE StudLiner HDPE is available in a range of thicknesses and configurations to prolong your concrete structure. This makes it less likely to absorb moisture and mildew, and makes steel and concrete installation much easier.
Secure, Reliable Installation
GSE geomembranes can be installed with the industry’s most sophisticated seaming method. Known as “fusion” welding, this technique involves melting opposing surfaces of membrane with a hot metal wedge and then using pressure rollers to press the molten sheets together. The result is a tight seam between sheets for a secure, waterproof lining.
