New President and CEO for GSE!
The Board of Directors of Gundle/SLT Environmental, Inc. (GSE) is pleased to announce that Mark C. Arnold will join the company as President, CEO and Director effective September 14, 2009. Prior to joining GSE, Mark was Vice President and General Manager at the Lubrizol Corporation leading a global business unit focused on growth in the Pacific Rim, India, South America and the Middle East. In addition, Mark brings to GSE over 15 years experience in the global civil construction markets at Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS), the world’s largest manufacturer of polyethylene drainage products. Mark developed and managed 32 distribution centers, and a nationwide network of engineering offices. As ADS’s Vice President and General Manager of International Operations, he ran four manufacturing companies outside the U.S. serving road construction, mining, aquaculture, and other civil construction markets.
Prior to ADS, Mark worked for General Electric. His GE career began in GE’s Manufacturing Management Program, and was followed by assignments in GE’s Aircraft Engines unit as a Process Engineer, Quality Manager, Program Manager, and Manager of Technical Marketing. Mark served in the U.S. Army prior to joining GE and he is currently a Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He is a Special Forces officer and has served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Mark graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. He earned an MBA at Cleveland State University and a Masters in Strategic Studies at the U.S. Army War College. He serves on the Board for Ohio University’s College of Engineering.
